If your question is not listed here, please reach out to us here.

Our standard operating hours are:

  • Weekdays - 8am to 5pm
  • Wednesday - CLOSED
  • Weekends - 8am to 5pm

Please note that we are not always at our facility, so if you need to come and see us outside of a scheduled pick up or drop off time, please contact us beforehand to ensure we will be there!

Alternatively, you can book an appointment with us here!

Appointments outside these times can be arranged by request.

Unless you have arranged to have the motorcycle delivered and/or picked up from your location, all motorcycles must be picked up and returned to our facility located at 1 Olympic Circuit, Southport. You will find us in the Kennard Self Storage Units on the corner and we will be there to meet you.

Click here to see our location on a map.

By far the best way is to catch the Gold Coast Light Rail (G:Link) and disembark at the Queen Street station. That’s how we get there! Many of the G:Link stations have large carparks and “kiss and ride” drop off areas (we didn't name them that!).

Click here, for an interactive map of the G:Link system with information on each station. Note also the G:Link meets the heavy rail at Helensvale Station, so if you are coming from Brisbane, you can still catch the G!

We are located within a minutes walk of the Queen Street Light Rail station in Southport, so that you don’t need your car!

Unfortunately there is no parking at the facility - on street parking only.

During the week there is virtually no parking available near our facility, and only limited parking on the weekends, which is why we catch the light rail!

Yes!

Subject to availability, delivery and/or pickup of our motorcycles to your specified location incurs an additional charge of $1.25 per kilometre, taken from our facility in Olympic Circuit.

Simply change the pickup or drop off location when booking, enter your address, the website will automatically calculate delivery charges for you (using Google Maps).

Its that easy!

  • You and any additional rider must be aged between 25 and 75 years old, hold a current Australian motorcycle license, produce the original on the day of pick up, and allow us to take a copy for our records. International licenses in English are also accepted (with a passport).

Click here to see an outline of license, age and experience criteria.

Unfortunately, we cannot make any exceptions to these criteria for insurance reasons. Further information is contained in our Motorcycle Rental Terms & Conditions.

Yes. You must complete the rider eligibility questions included in the booking form and provide accurate details about your licence, riding experience and driving history.

Gold Coast Motorcycle Rental may request a copy of your motorcycle licence or further information before approving the booking. Meeting the minimum criteria does not automatically guarantee approval, and the motorcycle will not be released until all required checks have been completed.

Further information is contained in our Motorcycle Rental Terms & Conditions.

Motorcycle bookings can be completed through our website, by sending us a message/text with the requested booking details, or over the phone.

By making a booking You are deemed to have accepted and agreed to be bound by our Motorcycle Rental Terms & Conditions.

Yes, in most cases we can help you change your booking, subject to availability and approval.

Please contact us as soon as possible if you need to change the motorcycle, rental dates or times, pick-up or return arrangements, additional riders or optional equipment.

Because of the way our booking system works, some changes may require the original booking to be cancelled and a new booking created. Any change may affect the rental price, discounts, fees or availability, and we will explain this before confirming the change.

All cancellations must be notified to Gold Coast Motorcycle Rental in writing.

If you cancel more than 14 days before your booked pick-up date, no cancellation fee applies and any amount already paid will be refunded in full.

If you cancel within 14 days of your booked pick-up date, a cancellation fee equal to 20% of the total booked rental cost applies. Any amount already paid will be refunded less the cancellation fee and any other amount payable under the Rental Contract.

Sometimes a motorcycle may become unavailable unexpectedly due to damage, a mechanical issue or another circumstance beyond our control.

We will contact you as soon as possible and, where available, offer you a reasonably suitable replacement motorcycle. Any difference in rental price will be explained before you accept the replacement.

If we cannot provide a suitable replacement, we will work with you to reschedule the booking, provide a booking credit or arrange an appropriate refund in accordance with our Terms and Conditions.

A minimum deposit of 20% of the total Rental Charges is required to establish a booking and hold a reservation.

If you book online, our website will take care of this for you.

If you ask for a booking to be created by us (via email/text/phone) an invoice will be sent to you to facilitate this payment.

NOTE - For bookings created by us over the phone, by email or by message, the required 20% deposit must be paid within 48 hours or the booking may be automatically cancelled. Online bookings require the deposit to be paid during checkout.

The full balance of the rental charge must be paid prior to taking delivery of the motorcycle on the booked rental commencement date. This is normally completed in store on the day of pickup.

NOTE -  We do not accept or handle cash unless by prior arrangement.

We accept the following:

  • Visa
  • Mastercard
  • American Express
  • Apple Pay (only if you are using your iPhone)
  • Google Pay (only if you are using your android phone)
  • Other bank issued EFTPOS cards

Before taking delivery of the motorcycle, you must complete the Credit/Debit Card Authorisation form, which will be sent to you shortly before your rental commences.

The nominated card must remain valid and available for authorised charges throughout the rental and for at least 30 business days after the rental ends. Any request to remove the card from our secure payment system must be made in writing.

NOTE - We do not accept or handle cash unless by prior arrangement.

The minimum rental period is one day (24 hours). All rentals are charged in full-day increments.

You may return the motorcycle before the end of the booked rental period; however, no refund is provided for any unused part of a day. Any approved refund for an early return will be calculated in full-day increments and is subject to our Terms and Conditions.

There is no maximum rental period!

Yes – we offer significant discounts for longer rental periods. These are automatically applied by our website at time of booking.

In addition, we often have monthly specials on select motorcycles. Check our page to see them here.

After your first motorcycle rental with us, you will automatically be sent a code which allows you to claim a returning customer discount of 10% on all your future rentals when booking through our website!

We currently offer a range of road and dual sport motorcycles.

Unfortunately, we do not currently own any dirt bikes.

Gold Coast Motorcycle Rental is a NO SCOOTER ZONE! We only offer full sized motorcycles with manual gearboxes and a clutch!

Road surface restrictions vary depending on the type of motorcycle rented:

    • Road motorcycles must only be ridden on properly constructed, formed and recognised fully sealed public roads that are lawfully open to public traffic.

  • Dual-purpose motorcycles may be ridden on properly constructed, formed and recognised sealed or unsealed public roads that are lawfully open to public traffic.

All motorcycles must be ridden in a manner suited to the road, weather, traffic and riding conditions. Unless Gold Coast Motorcycle Rental gives prior written approval, motorcycles must not be ridden off-road or in any prohibited area specified in the Rental Contract.

Further information is contained in our Motorcycle Rental Terms & Conditions.

Yes. Helmets are included free of charge with every motorcycle rental.

Jackets and gloves are also available to rent and can be added when booking your motorcycle, subject to availability. These are listed under the heading “Add-on options" at the bottom of the booking screens.

All of our safety equipment is fully disinfected after each use, so there is no risk of catching……well, anything really (not from our equipment anyway)!

Some of our motorcycles have optional panniers/top box, and these can be selected on our website when booking a motorcycle. These are listed under the heading “Add-on options" at the bottom of the booking screens.

The remaining motorcycles have nothing, so if you need panniers/top box, don’t rent one of these!

Most of our motorcycles are fitted with pillion seats, and are registered for two riders. We didn’t say they were comfortable, only that they are fitted!

There are some exceptions, so please check the motorcycle details carefully when booking.

The security deposit must be paid in store before you take delivery of the motorcycle and is separate from the rental charges.

Before taking delivery of the motorcycle, you must also complete the Credit/Debit Card Authorisation form,

Our standard minimum security deposits are:

  • Motorcycles under 200cc – $200 or 50% of the total rental charges, whichever is higher.
  • Motorcycles 200cc and above – $500 or 50% of the total rental charges, whichever is higher.

The exact security deposit may vary depending on the motorcycle, length of the rental and other booking circumstances, and will be displayed or advised before pickup.

The security deposit is separate from the rental charges and must be paid or authorised before the motorcycle is released.

Before taking delivery of the motorcycle, you must also complete the Credit/Debit Card Authorisation form, which will be sent to you shortly before your rental commences. The security deposit will be charged to the nominated card.

The nominated card must remain valid and available for authorised charges throughout the rental and for at least 30 business days after the rental ends. Any request to remove the card from our secure payment system must be made in writing.

Security deposits are normally processed within 24 hours of the safe return of the motorcycle in the required condition, subject to our Motorcycle Rental Terms & Conditions.

While we normally process the applicable refund within 24 hours (where applicable), your bank can take a number of days to process these transactions - this can take up to 7 business days, however, normally take between 2 to 4 business days.

Motorcycles which are returned with less than a full tank of fuel, or with damage or missing parts or accessories, delay the processing of your security deposit until the relevant issue is resolved.

Our standard damage excess is as follows:

  • Motorcycles less than 200cc - up to $2,000
  • Motorcycles greater than 201cc - up to $5,000

These amounts can be reduced by 50% by selecting the Damage Excess Reduction option at the time you book a motorcycle. This is listed under the heading “Add-on options" at the bottom of the booking screens.

More information on the Damage Excess and how and when it is applied can be found in our Motorcycle Rental Terms & Conditions.

First, make sure everyone is safe and contact emergency services if required.

You must then contact Gold Coast Motorcycle Rental as soon as possible and follow our instructions. Please take photos of the motorcycle, the scene and any damage, and obtain the names, contact details, vehicle details and insurance information of any other parties involved, together with witness details where available.

The incident must also be reported to police where required by law, or where the motorcycle has been stolen, deliberately damaged or involved in a serious accident.

Please do not admit liability, agree to pay another party, authorise repairs or arrange towing without our approval, unless immediate action is reasonably necessary for safety.

Standard Damage Cover is included with your motorcycle rental. When it applies, it limits your liability for covered loss or damage to the applicable Damage Excess shown in your Rental Contract.

Damage Cover is subject to the conditions and exclusions in our Terms and Conditions and may not apply if the motorcycle is used in breach of the Rental Contract, including use by an unauthorised rider, prohibited use or failure to follow accident-reporting requirements.

Damage Cover does not cover personal injury, personal belongings, accommodation, travel disruption or other personal losses. We recommend arranging suitable travel, medical, ambulance and personal accident insurance before your rental.

We provide 2 ways to pay for road tolls as follows:

    1. Standard method – at the end of the rental period we check to see if you incurred any road tolls, and if so, we deduct these from your security deposit refund.

  1. Road toll package – you can purchase a Road Toll Package on our website at the time you book a motorcycle, and regardless of how many road tolls you incur, or how much they are, we will take care of them (no deduction to your security deposit refund).

On the day of pickup, you must bring the following:

  • You!
  • Your drivers license (copies not accepted)
  • Your passport (if you hold an international license)

Please contact us as soon as possible if you are running late. We will do our best to accommodate you, but a late pick-up does not automatically extend the booked return time or reduce the rental charges.

If you do not arrive within one hour of your booked pick-up time and have not contacted us, your booking may be treated as a no-show or same-day cancellation. Cancellation fees may apply in accordance with our Terms and Conditions, and the motorcycle may no longer be held for you.

If you think you may be late returning the motorcycle, please contact us as soon as possible and let us know your expected return time.

A 20-minute grace period applies. If the motorcycle is returned more than 20 minutes after the agreed return time, the following late charges may apply:

    • Up to three hours late: $50 per hour, or part of an hour, calculated after the 20-minute grace period.
  • More than three hours late: an additional full day’s rental for each day, or part of a day, that the motorcycle remains overdue.

We may take reasonable circumstances into account when deciding whether to apply, reduce or waive a late return charge.

Only the customer and any additional rider approved by Gold Coast Motorcycle Rental and listed in the Rental Contract may operate the motorcycle.

The motorcycle must not be ridden by any other person. If it is, Damage Cover will not apply and the customer may be liable for all resulting loss, damage, costs and expenses.

Further information is contained in our Motorcycle Rental Terms & Conditions.

You will get wet!

Seriously though, wet weather is no problem as you can change your booking to another time within 12 months of your original booking (at no cost). We retain your booking deposit, and honour this at the time of rebooking.

Please note that rebooking a motorcycle is subject to any existing bookings.

We do not supply wet weather gear, so please either bring your own, pick some up from one of the many local motorcycle accessory stores on the Gold Coast, or resign yourself to your fate and get wet!

In the event of mechanical breakdown, you must contact Gold Coast Motorcycle Rental immediately, and we will arrange recovery (if required) or repairs by an approved provider.

All our motorcycles are fitted with puncture/inflation kits to get you out of trouble. There is a short instructional video on our YouTube channel on how to use these kits, however, if you are not comfortable doing so, please contact us for assistance.

If you lose or damage the motorcycle key, please contact us straight away.

We keep spare keys for most motorcycles and may be able to get one to you. You will be responsible for the reasonable costs involved, which may include delivering the spare key, cutting or coding a replacement key, locksmith work, replacement locks or ignition components, towing, recovery and labour.

The total cost will depend on the motorcycle and what is required to make it secure and usable again, so there is no fixed lost-key fee. Keys for motorcycles fitted with factory immobilisers can be particularly expensive to replace, so it is best to keep the key safe!

All our motorcycles have standard steering locks, and are also supplied with disc locks for you to use when parking to improve security.

It is up to you to ensure the motorcycle is secured from theft as far as reasonably practicable.

All motorcycles are handed over with a full tank of fuel, and must be returned to us with a full tank of fuel. Motorcycles returned with less than a full tank of fuel incur a $50 refuelling charge.

Further information is available here.

All motorcycles must only be refuelled with premium 95 RON fuel.

No. Our standard motorcycle rentals include unlimited kilometres, so you can enjoy your ride without worrying about additional distance charges.

Yes – all motorcycles can be returned early provided you notify us of your intention to do so, as we are not always at our facility. Any approved refund will be calculated in full-day increments only.

In the event that a rental discount has been applied based on the original length of your rental, the discount rate will be adjusted if your shortened rental incurs a different discount rate.

Rental Period extensions can be made only where subsequent customers are not impacted.

If approved, you must make payment for the additional rental charges before the extension takes effect.

Yes. Motorcycles can be picked up or returned outside our normal opening hours by prior arrangement. An additional fee of $50 applies for each after-hours pickup or return.

For example, an early-morning pickup (before 8am) incurs a $50 fee. If the motorcycle is also returned after closing time (5pm), a separate $50 fee applies.

Gift certificates cannot currently be redeemed through our online booking checkout.

To use a gift certificate, please contact us before making payment. We can apply it to your booking through a Square invoice or process it for you in store.

Please have the full gift card number available so we can check the balance and apply the amount you wish to use.

You can check the balance of your Gift Card by clicking here, or by navigating to the Gift Cards & Merchandise page and clicking on the button titled "Check Balance" in the top right hand corner of your screen.
